Based in Discovery Bay, our team installs and services HydroHoist systems throughout California. Our experience includes projects at major lakes and marinas such as Shasta Lake, Lake Berryessa, Don Pedro Reservoir, New Melones Lake, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, the Sacramento River, Peninsula marinas, and boating communities throughout Northern and Southern California.

Company Story
Tim Bubniak began building and servicing docks and decks in Discovery Bay in 2005. In 2009, HydroHoist Marine Group opened its sixth warehouse in Discovery Bay, with Scott Mortensen serving as regional manager for the new California location.
Ben Winn joined Tim's construction company as a foreman in 2013, gaining hands-on experience with docks, decks, boat lifts, repairs, and waterfront construction.
After Scott retired in 2020, he selected Tim and Ben to take over the local HydroHoist dealership. Tim retired from construction the following year and transferred that business to Ben. Today, Tim and Ben combine HydroHoist product knowledge with decades of collective waterfront, construction, installation, and repair experience.
Tim Bubniak Construction began dock and deck work in Discovery Bay, building experience with local waterfront structures, slips, and installation conditions.
HydroHoist Marine Group opened its sixth warehouse in Discovery Bay, with Scott Mortensen serving as regional manager for the California location.
Ben joined Tim's construction company as a foreman and began building his experience with docks, decks, boat lifts, and waterfront projects.
Tim and Ben took over the HydroHoist dealership in 2020. In 2021, Tim retired from construction and transferred that business to Ben.

Owner & Business Operations
Tim began building and servicing docks and decks in Discovery Bay in 2005 and brings decades of general contracting and waterfront construction experience to the partnership. He transferred the construction business to Ben in 2021 but remains a partner in HydroHoist of Discovery Bay, overseeing business operations and paperwork.
Scheduling, Inspections, Fieldwork & Installations
Ben joined Tim Bubniak's construction company as a foreman in 2013, gaining extensive hands-on experience with docks, decks, boat lifts, repairs, and waterfront construction. He took ownership of the construction business in 2021 and now manages HydroHoist's day-to-day field operations, product planning, installation, and repairs.

Kris handles incoming calls, bidding, paperwork, and billing, helping each project move smoothly from the first customer inquiry through installation and final paperwork.

Community
For Tim, Discovery Bay is more than the company’s home base—it has been home since 2004. An avid bass fisherman and boater, Tim understands waterfront ownership from both a professional and personal perspective. He serves on the local Reclamation District board and is also involved with Camp Gold Star, a planned island resort serving Gold Star families.
